Product description

When I was in my 20’s, I barely wore any makeup. I would put on a layer of mascara and head out the door. I had pride in my natural beauty, fresh looking face, and wrinkle free, smooth skin. But these days, when I look in the mirror, I barely recognize the person looking back at me.

Words that could possibly describe my aging eyelids: Saggy, Hooded, Droopy, Tired.

If the saying goes, “your eyes are the windows to your soul”, wouldn’t you want some amazing curtains? My eyelids have taken a hard hit through the years. Sometimes people think I’m scowling, upset, or tired, because of my droopy eyelids.

What I really need, is some kind of instant, miracle solution. Something that doesn’t hurt and works fast! I weighed out my options, but everything these days come with high risk for what could be little reward.

FILLERS? Fillers are very popular, but I have never been too great with needles and I’m not sure if I am ready to commit to it. For someone like myself that rarely wears makeup, fillers would be a dramatic change. I also find the cost to be quite pricey.

EXPENSIVE TREATMENTS? Whether you go for a day at the spa or a clinic that specializes in skin tightening, chances are, you are spending hundreds, maybe even thousands of dollars. From radio frequency treatments to the popular vampire facials, it could cost more than you expected. Treatments are great when you want to splurge on some self-care or spend a day at the spa with the girls, but not as an everyday solution.

SURGERY? I don’t need to explain anything here! Cosmetic or reconstructive surgery on any part of your body, is not for everyone. If you can’t handle pain (like myself), don’t have the money, and can’t afford to take time off work for recovery, it may not be the solution for you.

I’ve seen amazing results on others, but I’m not ready to commit to surgery just yet. If only there was a way to show you what the results were BEFORE going under the knife...

Is 50 The New 20?

A few months ago, I celebrated the big 5-0.

Getting ready for my lavish birthday dinner, I almost had a meltdown. I was rummaging through my closet and I felt like I had nothing to wear. I was looking in the mirror and my face looked old, my eyes were tired, and I didn’t recognize myself anymore.

I called my friend Mariah to come over for some moral support. She is 55, newly retired, and always looks amazing. She wears her age well and oozes confidence.

“I don’t know what’s wrong with me, Mariah!” I was sobbing on the floor of my walk-in closet.

“You have to get off the floor if we’re going to make the reservations for your birthday!” She giggled and helped me off the floor. I guess it was a bit funny to see a grown woman crying over what to wear.

“I went through the exact same thing when I turned 50. Heck, I broke down when I turned 30! I know it doesn’t seem like it, but I had a tough time coming to terms with my aging body, especially my face.” I was really surprised by this. She’s always so confident!

“Do you want to know a little secret? Every morning, before I start my day, I have a routine that makes me feel young, beautiful, and confident… I start with a morning jog, a super healthy smoothie and after a nice hot shower, I apply corrective strips to my eyes. And that’s it! I’m ready to head out the door. No eye shadow, no makeup. Just my natural face with an instant eye lift!”

Mariah pulled out her cosmetic case and showed me the exact same correction strips she uses.

You can try other brands, but this one is really the best out there. Every time I wear them, I feel more confident and I’m not embarrassed about my droopy eyes. Makes me feel like I’m in my 20’s!”

Contours Rx’s Lids By Design

If you’ve never tried (or heard of) correcting strips for your eyes, the purpose is for them to redefine and recontour your eyelids. They are easily applied to your eyelids and create a beautiful, natural crease, for bigger, bolder eyes.

These corrective eye strips can be worn every day and come in different widths so you can recontour your eyelids for your ideal look. I wore LIDS BY DESIGN on one eye and a generic brand on the other for one week. Or at least I tried.

Here Are My Results

DAY 1:

When I opened the box for Contours Rx, I was pleasantly surprised to see there were different sizes of strips ranging from 4mm-7mm. It comes in a convenient box to keep all the strips in order with a pair of tweezers to easily lift the strips off the sheet.

If you follow the manual, its pretty easy to apply. Today I wore the 5mm strips. They look natural, the strip is translucent and blends well into my skin (I have olive skin tone), and its super comfortable. I barely notice its there! And more importantly, my eyelid looks lifted!

Now for the generic brand, it only comes in one size. If I compare it to Contours Rx, I’m guessing this one is maybe 3mm-4mm wide? It doesn’t come with tweezers, and both sides of the strip are sticky. It’s a bit difficult to pick up, but once I do and place it on my eye, it seems to stay in place.

DAY 2:

After wearing both strips, I found that Contours Rx stayed in place all day, but the other brand lost its stickiness after four hours and just fell off. It also fell off at the worse time possible! I was paying for a coffee when the barista politely whispered, “Excuse me, but I think your eyelid is peeling off”. I was mortified!

The generic brand also made my eyelid a bit red and itchy, so I don’t think I will continue wearing them. I’m afraid it may be an allergic reaction to the adhesive or the material of the strip. Contours Rx is dermatologist tested, medical grade, latex free (this is probably what was in the other brand), and hypoallergenic. No wonder it feels so comfortable!

Today I am wearing Contours Rx on both lids, using the 4mm for a natural lift. I don’t wear too much makeup except mascara, so I think this width is perfect for my every day look.

DAY 4:

So far, I’m ecstatic with the results I’ve been getting with Contours Rx. I like that they are disposable, so I can wear a fresh new pair every day and choose a different width depending on the look I’m going for.

I can see a noticeable difference in my eyes and I’ve been getting compliments from everyone! Someone even asked me if I went ‘under the knife’! They were shocked when I let them in on my little secret.

DAY 7:

Tonight I am going to a swanky work event. I think it calls for a 7mm kind of strip. After putting on the strips, I applied my eyeshadow seamlessly! I love the depth the strip gives my eye and how smooth the makeup goes on. I can’t wait to show off my new look!

Final Thoughts

If you have saggy, droopy, tired eyes and are looking for a natural alternative to give you that oomph, you need to try Contours Rx’s LIDS BY DESIGN. This is the safest, easiest way to achieve lifted, bold eyes. I wear them every day as part of my daily routine. I feel more confident and secure about myself and my looks. I didn’t think I would feel this way again, especially in my 50’s.
